Sensei Mary Greenwood

Instructor - 1st Dan
Sensei Mary started jiu-jitsu with her younger brother
when she was eight years old, training under East Midlands
Jiu-Jitsu at the Unstone Community Centre on a Wednesday
night.
Over the next couple of years, she trained in New
Whittington as well, eventually moving the new dojo at
Chesterfield with Shihan Michael Holden.
After moving to the Chesterfield dojo, Sensei Mary became
more involved in the Academy, helping to teach the Super
Kids, the Little Dragons and also achieving Yellow Belt
in kickboxing.
Sensei Mary passed her 1st Junior Black Belt soon
after and went on to win Student of The Year in 2004.
During 2008, Sensei Mary fought in Continuous Fighting
at the BJJA(GB) National Competition and managed to achieve
a bronze medal.
In November 2008, Sensei Mary was awarded the rank of Senior
Black Belt (1st Dan) alongside fellow student, Sabrina
Fletcher by Shihan Michael Holden Godan and Sensei Steve
France Sandan.
In November 2009, Sensei Martin achieved the recognised
status of Assistant Coach (Level 1) by the BJJA(GB).
