Shihan Michael Holden the founder of the Mind, Body & Spirit
Martial Arts Academy and Seishin-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, has trained
in the martial arts since 1987, under Kaicho Brian Walsh
Soke & Renshi John Rake.
Shihan Holden attained the rank of 1st Dan Atemi Jiu~Jitsu
in September 1991.
Having been secretary and a part-time instructor of the
East Midlands Jiu~Jitsu Association Shihan Holden then
attained 2nd Dan 3rd Dan 4th Dan & 5th Dan respectively
in the years between 1991 & 2001.
Kaicho Brian Walsh Soke awarded the Japanese Title of
Sensei Dai (Expert Teacher) in 1995.
The rank of 1st Dan Yawara~Bo and Te~Bo Jutsu was attained
in 1999, 2nd Dan in 2001.
The Japanese title of Shihan (Master Instructor) was awarded
by Kaicho Brian Walsh Soke in December 2001.
Turned full time professional instructor December 2001
teaching 6 classes in and around Chesterfield.
Accepted as members of the British Ju-Jitsu Association,
the national governing body for Ju-Jitsu in Great Britain,
in November 2005.
The BJJA is officially recognised by Sport England, the
International Ju-Jitsu Federation, (JJIF) associated with
the Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR) and with
the national Coaching Foundation; Sports Coach UK.
Appointed as a BJJA Senior Coach (Level 4) May 2006.
Opened full time academy November 2006.
Shihan Michael is a certified member of the National Education
System for Training (NEST).
Awarded National Governing Body Referee Diploma March
2009.
Appointed National Governing Body Senior Referee July
2009 .
Awarded rank of 6th Dan on 20th February 2010 by BJJA
